McCloud Zicmuse
Após anos de intensa actividade na cena musical e artística da América do Norte, McCloud Zicmuse perdeu o avião que o deveria levar de volta à sua casa em Olympia (E.U.A.) e foi vivendo entre a França, a Suécia e o Japão até se estabelecer definitivamente na Bélgica.
Conhecido principalmente pelo seu projecto a solo Le Ton Mité, que se estreou em Portugal no ano passado, Zicmuse tem colaborado frequentemente com grupos como os Maher Shalal Hash Baz, os Microphones ou os Tenniscoats. É também fagotista e já foi convidado a tocar com gente como Mt. Eerie, Chris Cohen, Félicia Atkinson, Half-Handed Cloud, Club des Chats, Congotronics vs. Rockers e muitos outros.
Para além da sua carreira musical, Zicmuse realiza workshops (de como construir instrumentos a partir de lixo, de como criar nações temporárias ou de como fazer erros), escreve sobre folclore e co-dirige com Anne Brugni uma pequena galeria, editora, tipografia e hotel em Bruxelas.
Regressa agora ao nosso país para apresentar o seu último registo, intitulado “The Well-Tuned Iaeniaen” em referência à obra “The Well-Tuned Piano” do compositor La Monte Young, editado em cassette pela Shelter Press, no qual explora as possibilidades sónicas dos "iaeniaens", uma família de instrumentos que criou a partir de lixo.

Maverick improviser, luthier & composer McCloud Zicmuse invites you to participate in a unique creation: the INSTANT INSTRUMENT WORKSHOP. Using materials found in the environment around us, we construct our own musical instruments and then play them as part of the INSTANT INSTRUMENT WORKSHOP ENSEMBLE.

Months later, finding himself in an art residency that had no stipend, but had a lot of tools, he gathered up used guitar strings from the adjcent rehearsal studios and put together a series of rough instruments from recouperated materials, one of which was the IAENIAEN.

McCloud leads you on the path of musical discovery through the garbage heap & recycling bin where everything is possible: tin can guitars, cardboard durm sets, flutes made from bottles & so much more.
At the end of the construction phase, comes playing on the stage. We’ll get to know our new creations and after practicing a few times we play a concert (or at least a few songs).
