PROJECT:
Memory | The residency project of Petra Regent has been exploring the impact of time on the city of Lisbon. Surfaces are eroded and in the process they gain new forms, as they carry the story of their history embedded in their very fabric. Rough white paving stones become polished after centuries of feet walking on them; ancient tiles have pieces missing or are cracked, creating a mysterious image, where it is left to the viewer to literally “fill in the gaps” with their imagination; trees conquering the concrete.
