Zaratan – Arte Contemporânea is pleased to present The Fall, a solo exhibition by João Campolargo Teixeira. It materializes in the audiovisual work ‘BABABADALGHARAGHTAKAMMINARRONNKONNBRONNTONNERRONNTUONNTHUNNTROVARRHOUNAWNSKAWNTOOHOOHOORDENENTHURNUK (thunderword)’ [2026], a sensory essay on the fall and the crash. Inspired by James Joyce's monumental onomatopoeia in "Finnegans Wake", this light and sound installation dissects the meteorological phenomenon of the thunderstorm. In the space, the word written in light confronts the sound that erupts in the darkness — a visceral interpretation of the onomatopoeia performed by a metal vocalist through guttural scream and power fry techniques. Respecting the physics of lightning itself, the relationship between light and sound is deliberately asynchronous, immersing the viewer in a physical and linguistic experience of the meteorological sublime.
