What drives poets? Sung sex, of course. But, being poets, it's sexão (a more intense, grand, and poetic version of sex). That's why this cycle dedicated to super-diva sexões is so urgent. Dinis Lapa and Nuno Moura throw out witty banter, and then a divine lightning bolt strikes them with the names of Portugal's most sexão poets. All of them are, in some way, connected to music. What they are is super-diva prima donnas. They, or she, of course. Sexões are, therefore, sessions of sung sex with super-diva sexão poets. The banquet is served.

In this ninth session of the cycle, Durga Black (Carla Badillo Coronado) takes us on her metamorphic journeys of ecumenical and sonic-transfigured languages towards an ideal of freedom and transgression.
 
About the artist:

DURGA BLACK | Traveller, migrant, and poet, the sound art of Durga Black (aka Carla Badillo Coronado) is made of as many lived experiences as artistic ones. Both intertwine between the everyday and the dream. The fusion of these languages is a permanent flow that runs through her work, from writing to music. There exists, above all, a liberating freedom, one that is hybrid and self-aware. Between rap, collage, electronics, and spoken word, she creates new worlds in the format of a sonic installation. Pieces such as «MATERIA INTERFERIDA», «333», or «Pelo de Medusa» construct small oniric theatres, with a sci-fi flavour and elegant electronic forms. As the act of creation is itself an act of resistance, much of her work questions the realities of her time. The album «20/20», with METAMORPHOSIS, exorcised the Pandora's box of the pandemic, while 'No Les Creo' portrayed the decay of the political and social landscape of her country. The voice, the samples, the keyboard, and the sounds found during the journey of improvisation become new phonetics, interpretations, and translations of the current reality of things. Through hip hop, she connected to the imaginary of the art of travelling: to observe, to collect, and to create a situation, a character, or a story. The unpredictability of walking the streets, betting on ideas and organising mental notes, ignites much of her production. Philosophy, dance, or video are other branches that intertwine around this Ecuadorian artist, for whom the act of struggle is a sign of sanity. A poetic struggle that refuses to be normalised, or diluted, by the urgencies and priorities of the external world.
