+Info: residencies@zaratan.pt

Field Studies is a series of sound works focused on the perceptual alterations activated by listening through audio recording/playback technology in open spaces, and on the contamination of field recordings with minimal electronic and electro-acoustic sound interventions to create imaginary sound environments.
Electronic and electro-acoustic sounds are used as external agents pushing the recordings further away from the time and space where they took place, altering their balance, color and tone.
The live set is a multichannel sound projection with conventional speaker system and a set of small speakers and cassette dictaphones, alternating the immersive quality of hi-fi listening with localized lo-fi sound sources in order to create small and temporary sound geographies.
For the end of residency concert Glauco Salvo will play a set with new field recordings made in Lisbon and electronic sounds recorded with a Serge Modular synth, a very unique instrument DIY built during the residency at Zaratan.
Glauco Salvo's residency at Zaratan is supported by Culture Moves Europe, a project funded by the European Union.
