SARA FRANCO
SARA FRANCO lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. She studied at the Faculdade de Belas Artes - Lisbon University
As a plastic artist her work has been shown in solo and group shows since 2000.
In 2005 she developed the PLASMA! Project made at Lugar Comum - Centro de Experimentação Artística of the Pólvora Factory.
In 2008 she presented her work at Arte Lisboa – Contemporary Art Fair, represented by Bernardo Marques Art Gallery in which place it was also done a solo show, in June of 2009, entitled CRASH and by whose invitation has also performed on the 4 days event "D.Pedro V está vivo!" with the participation of the brasilian graffiter Nunca.
Her last solo and group exhibitions include: GUM, Galeria LAR do LAC – Laboratório de Actividades Criativas (Lagos, May 2015), PSICOBULLETS AND PILLS, EKA Palace/Lisbon, (Lisbon, January 2015), Free Fuel - Breathe and Reboot, CAMP Contemporary Art Meeting Point (Athens - Greece, April 2014), LOW&BAD, Mimosa da Lapa (Lisbon, May 2013), SPACED OUT, with Galeria Nómada Artists Collective at MOB Association (Lisbon, Feb 2013), Posso pegar fogo à cidade, mãe? a project by João Saboga and Sara Franco Tubo de Ensaio, (Figueira da Foz, July 2012), Ruido, Galeria de S.Bento (Lisbon, Feb/March 2011), Espaço 0, with Galeria Nómada at the Flying House (Lisboa - Dec 2010), Meet Jessica, POP UP (Lisboa, Nov 2010), Participation at the street exhibition Rua Aberta, organized by "Rua de Baixo" e integrated at the Open Day - Lx Factory 2010 (Lisboa, 2010), Time will kill us, Recreios da Amadora (Amadora, 2010), CRASH, Bernardo Marques Art Gallery, (Lisbon, 2009).
Working as an illustrator since 2005, Sara Franco already worked for "Tugaland/A Bela" e "o Monstro", "Umbigo Magazine", "Le Cool Lisboa", "Le Cool London", "Outsider, Big Ode", "Staf Magazine" (Barcelona), "Grab Magazine" ( Italy) with colaborations, among others, with "Musicbox Lisboa", "Pinhead Merchandising", "Concertos na Comuna" and with "Trama booksop" as Visual Arts coordinator until December 2009, having also being responsible for the creation and coordination of the project [10:10] - 10 posters in 10 weeks.
