BIO:

MARGOT KICK (Munich, 1985) is a multimedia artist based between Glasgow (UK) and Lisbon (PT). In her previous work she has worked mainly with etchings and photography, lately exploring the subject of “ongoingness”. Her photographs show subtle compositions of shades of grey, using chemical reactions and camera-less photography to depict an immaterial atmosphere. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Glasgow School of Art and participated in several exhibitions in Glasgow, London and New York.

PROJECT:

Central to the artist's open studio at Zaratan is the series of paintings with abstract morphologies intertwining with lines of poetry. Organic forms evolve and connect to an outer side.The exhibition also includes a selection of works on paper, where the artist continues her ongoing exploration of the line with watercolours and graphite. Oscillating between drawing, writing and painting, the resulting body of work shows her interest in how the dichotomy of works establish multiple narratives.
