Ghostly heroine of “The Invention of Morel”, Faustine is beyond dreams and reality.
This exhibition explores the adventure of the virtual image, that is, one that exists in potential (in imagination and dreams), in equivalence (in any conversion system), in simulation (as a disguise or delirium).
From a ghost writer of detective stories to a doppelgänger of Titian, “Faustine”, character-exposition, embodies the imaginative spirit of platonic fantasies, hypnopompic states or feverish hallucinations.

BIO: Carlota Jardim (Lisbon, 1995) is a visual artist. Lives and works in Caldas da Rainha. In her work she explores the pictorial translation of personal experiences, through painting, drawing and text. She has a degree in Painting from FBAUL (2014-18) and completed a Masters in Fine Arts – Specialization in painting from FBAUP (2020-22). She was awarded the academic merit award “Prémio Alexandre Viana de Lima” (UP/CM Esposende, 2022). Highlights include the solo exhibitions “Escritório” (Pó de Vir a Ser, Évora, 2023) and “Verdade Ilusão A Rave De Platão” (Galeria do Sol, Porto, 2022); the duo exhibition “Caravana” (with Gonçalo Godinho Gouveia - Atelier Caldeiras, Porto, 2022); and the group exhibitions “Hammer Time | Exhibition-Auction” (Zaratan, Lisbon, 2023), “Em Obras” (Zaratan, Lisbon, 2023), “É pra amanhã” (Festival Pre0cupada, Casa Branca – Escoural, 2023), “Prémio Árvore das Virtudes” (Cooperativa Árvore, Porto, 2021), “Curva” (CRL Central Elétrica, Porto, 2021) “Jet Lag” (Galeria Liminare, Lisboa, 2019) e “Wah – We Are Here!
