On the 19th of February at 19 hours, Zaratan – Arte Contemporânea invites for the opening of Laranja Mecânica, a solo show by Jorge Maciel.

Jorge Maciel is a gleaner by nature. Someone who collects what others throw away, someone who accumulates and tries to order the world through what most people think is waste. The collected materials are reinterpreted and built up into organized and chaotic structures, that suit the characteristics of the exhibition space: cardboard, empty containers, old furniture and other debris, are made up into environmental art installations. In Laranja Mecânica, the artist presents a huge piece, a walkable installation that climbs around the architectural angles of the room and invites the public to change the point of view in an uphill path.
