In this workshop, we invite the younger ones to dive into the universe of SABAPRODAKTION's exhibition Cardboard Noise. Taking this project as a starting point, we propose a direct engagement with cardboard—a common material that here is transformed into a medium for resistance and creation.
Inspired by the artist's visual language, children will explore cardboard in a tactile and physical way. Instead of just painting or gluing, the challenge is to use gestures to scratch, pierce, and open slits, discovering the textures and layers hidden within the material itself. It is a process of discovery where every tear creates a new mark and every hole reveals what lies beneath. The goal is to show the youth new artistic possibilities using "poor" and everyday materials.

About the artist-educator:

ANA SALOMÉ PAIVA is a visual artist based at the Goela Association. She is interested in poetry and drawing, exploring their diverse manifestations and relationships with the body as both a medium and a political body. Over the past few years, her work has focused on poetic research regarding the female body in the form of notebooks, fanzines, self-published books, and engravings. Her most recent self-published books relate to erotic poetry and motherhood. She has been exhibiting in alternative and independent spaces since 2008.
She is involved in various pedagogical art projects across Lisbon. She was a guest artist for the "Descola - Escola Nómada" project at Eb2/3 Alta do Lumiar with the visual arts activity "My Imaginary Neighborhood." She has also provided visual arts training in classroom settings at Eb1 St. Maria Maior and in Bairro Bensaúde under the projects "Bensaúde Goes to School," "Bensaúde is Life," and "Neighborhoods that Matter," supported by the Bip-Zip Program (Priority Intervention Neighborhoods). She is the author of the visual arts workshop project "Inconstant Drawings," through which she develops projects for children, youth, and seniors in various spaces: Goela Association, the Penha de França and Marvila libraries, and the Sines Arts Center. She also leads training sessions in alternative engraving processes.
