INTERFERÊNCIAS #4
Vuduvum Vadavã + Não Confundir Com

December 13, 2025, 5:30 PM
Admission €3.5 [monthly membership fee]

We present the third session of the INTERFERÊNCIAS concert series, curated by Boris Nunes and João Madeira, an unprecedented duo that starts from distinct universes to create a space for dialogue between aesthetics, genres, and generations.
In each session, their choices intersect on the same stage, bringing together musicians with consolidated careers and younger artists whose artistic maturity is already evident.
Alongside this age diversity, the cycle spans a broad sound spectrum, presenting proposals ranging from jazz and free jazz to electronic, performative, and avant-garde experimentation.
Featuring formats that vary from solo to quartet, and including national and international musicians, INTERFERENCES is an attempt to map contemporary sound from its fringes, creating meeting points between audiences, languages, and sensibilities.
This fourth session of the cycle will feature performances by Vuduvum Vadavã, a wild and primitive solo by artist Marta Ângela, and also Não Confundir Com, a trio with an atypical instrumentation that makes atypical music.

About the Artists:

VUDUVUM VADAVÃ | Born in Porto, she is Marta Ângela, half of the duo Von Calhau! Her passion lies in the absurd, in the wild and primitive state of language, from the pre-verbal to the palindrome and other elaborate word games. This investigation focuses on the relationship between opposites, which can be complementary or repellent in their combination. In visual and non-visual arts, singing/voice, performance, circuit-bending, or as a DJ, she experiments with noise and silence in a drift guided by the unknown.

NÃO CONFUNDIR COM | Composed of João Gato (Saxophone), Nazaré da Silva (Voice), and Zé Almeida (Bass), Não Confundir Com is an improvisation trio with an atypical instrumentation that stands out for its atypical music. Communication, the notion of space, and the exploration of frequencies are essential components for the creation of a floating sound organism that moves restlessly between the unexpected and the bizarre.
João Gato is a saxophonist active in the fields of Jazz, improvised music, and cross-disciplinary projects, holding bachelor's and master's degrees, and collaborating on projects such as Apophenia and Trafiklys. Nazaré da Silva is a singer and lyricist with a higher education background in Jazz Vocal (ESML), having been awarded the RTP/Festa do Jazz prize (Revelation Musician 2021) and collaborates as an arranger. Zé Almeida is a bassist with a degree in Jazz (ESML), leads the Analogik quartet, and collaborates with renowned musicians like Peter Evans.
