INTERFERÊNCIAS #3
Fuhrer Duhrer + Jangada de Pedra (Bruno Pedroso)

December 6, 2025, 6:00 PM
Admission €3.5 [monthly membership fee]

We present the third session of the INTERFERÊNCIAS concert series, curated by Boris Nunes and João Madeira, an unprecedented duo that starts from distinct universes to create a space for dialogue between aesthetics, genres, and generations.
In each session, their choices intersect on the same stage, bringing together musicians with consolidated careers and younger artists whose artistic maturity is already evident.
Alongside this age diversity, the cycle spans a broad sound spectrum, presenting proposals ranging from jazz and free jazz to electronic, performative, and avant-garde experimentation.
Featuring formats that vary from solo to quartet, and including national and international musicians, INTERFERENCES is an attempt to map contemporary sound from its fringes, creating meeting points between audiences, languages, and sensibilities.

In this third session of the cycle, there will be performances by FUHRER DUHRER, a visceral solo and sound-hurling act by artist Sara de Oliveira, and also JANGADA DE PEDRA by BRUNO PEDROSO, a quartet of jazz musicians who revisit themes by composers related to the Iberian Peninsula.

About the Artists:

FUHRER DUHRER | Presents itself with a premise of turbulence for polyglots since 2013. It is the "sound-hurling heteronym used to inflict hematomas on our cerebral cortex," deriving from the hands of Sara de Oliveira [a.k.a Mus Rattus/Marquesa do Sabre], in the words of Carlos Matos (Fade In/Ciclo de Música Exploratória). The project encapsulates the versatility of stridency and the odd counterpoint of the tape as an influence, resorting to a reservoir of field recording, foley art, and cassette manipulation with effects pedals. Each performance is taken by a momentum that refuses adaptability; there is no concordance with predisposed ears or the most sensitive eardrums. It thus promises a dense atmosphere that gravitates between harsh noise, drastic experimental, and power electronics. In a multidisciplinary register, the fetishist artist also operates under other designations in the fields of analogue collage, "xerox worship," poetry, writing, and independent publishing.

JANGADA DE PEDRA | Jangada de Pedra features Bruno Pedroso (drums), André Rosinha (double bass), Desidério Lázaro (saxophone), and Duarte Ventura (vibraphone).
Obviously inspired by Saramago's novel, the intention of this Jangada is to keep afloat themes by composers who have, or have had, some relationship with the Iberian Peninsula. Over more than 35 years, Pedroso has enjoyed the immense fortune of being able to play the pieces from this repertoire with their composers. Naturally, as time passed, these works were left behind, making way for new repertoires. Because these are songs he fell in love with, and deeply regretting the fact that he can no longer play them (despite, in some cases, still being part of the respective composers' bands), Bruno Pedroso decided to realize this project, thus being able to revisit whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and in this way share musical pieces that he hopes will have an impact on the audience as intensely positive as they still have on him today.
