Zaratan is thrilled to present Matrix, Inner Glow, a pop-up exhibition by Ana Grubic showcasing the interdisciplinary work developed during her one-month residency in Lisbon.
In her artistic practice,Grubic explores the resilience and quiet perseverance of nature within urban environments, traditionally merging printmaking, stitching, and found objects.
The new body of work created in Lisbon further expands these foundations. The residency provided an ideal space for deeper research and experimentation, resulting in pieces composed of paper, light, drawing, shadow, and a soft background glow—elements that together evoke the silent, enduring energy of life.
Here, the urban fabric of the city is literally woven into the pieces: manhole covers and ceramic tiles served as unexpected “matrices” for printing, while the diverse urban flora, finding its own paths through the city, made its way into this unique new series.
The exhibition is complemented by a conversation with the artist on Friday, November 28, at 6:00 PM (18h00). A limited-edition risograph poster, produced in collaboration with Stolen Prints, will also be launched."
