We are glad to present a solo concert by Ignacio Córdoba with the Quadrodphone, a brand new instrument invented and built in collaboration with dutch inventor Yuri Landman, the crazy artist responsible for the craziest instruments of Sonic Youth, Liars, Half Japanese and many more. Yuri brought Ignacio’s dream to the life of the quadraphonic electric percussive sound of four sliding metal rods that defy the physics of any bell, bow or heart-beat. Its command rooms to bend and breathe and blow with droning resonance.
Ignacio uses it to succumb into a body-trance state that shamans and witches have described and experienced for centuries.
He will be presenting the Quadrophone internationally for the first time in this performance.
Ignácio Córdoba's residency at Zaratan is supported by Culture Moves Europe, a project funded by the European Union.
