The Artist Talks offer the community a chance to meet the artists-in-residence at Zaratan and to gain insight into the creative process.
On the 24th of May, at 18:00, we are pleased to invite you to a meeting with Gabrielle Reeves and Mirela Moscu, who will present their artistic practices in different formats.
Mirela Moscu will be available to take visitors on a guided tour around the creation imaginary and the pieces that make up the exhibition “Touching the Eye”
Gabrielle Reeves introduces her artistic process through a slide show of previews prjects.
At the same time, the exhibitions of the artists installed in the gallery and in the studio of the Zaratan residence space are accessible.
The conversation is in English; participants are invited to participate and question.

BIOGRAPHIES:
>>>MIRELA MOSCU (b.1986) graduated her Master degree at the University of Art and Design, Cluj-Napoca, Romania at painting department. Because she doesn’t paint after photographs, her working process starts with a series of drawings and gouaches on paper that are later used for visual references for paintings on canvas. She was part of various group shows at galleries such as Jahn und Jahn Gallery, München, Germany; Iomo Gallery Bucharest, Romania and CFHILL, Stockholm,Sweden. Other solo exhibitions includes projects at Suprainfinit Bucharest, Romania and Frameless Gallery, London. U.K. Mirela Moscu is based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. [ https://www.works.io/mirela-moscu ]

>>> GABRIELLE REEVES is an American visual artist who lives and works in Istanbul Turkey. She has exhibited her work in a number of solo and 2 person exhibitions including “Kolaj/Collage”at the Nicolaysen Art Museum (Casper WY, 2016), “Life in Istanbul: Village of Millions” at the Global Village Museum (Fort Collins CO, 2017) and “Yerli Yabanci” at the Guray Museum (Cappadocia, 2017), “Nostalgia” at Istanbul Concept Gallery (Istanbul, 2021), among others. Her work has also been exhibited in numerous group shows including “Kaybolan Suretler” at Istanbul Concept Gallery (Istanbul, 2017), “Sehir Ezmesi” at Closet Circuit (Istanbul, 2016) and “Plastic Sanatlar” at the Silahtar Caravansaria (Malatya Turkey, 2016). Her work is in several permanent collections including the Nicolaysen Art Museum, The Guray Museum in Cappadocia and the University of Wyoming Campus in Laramie WY.
