On October 21, at 18:00 pm, Zaratan – Arte Contemporânea invites for an encounter with the artists Tadasuke Jinno and Petra Regent, artists-in-residency at Zaratan AIR 2017, who are presenting their artistic course and their residency proposal in a public talk.
The entrance is free and the conversation will be held in English.
BIOS:
Tadasuke Jinno
Born in Japan, Tadasuke Jinno studied graphic design at Tokyo Designer Gakuin College in Nagoya, and painting at the Art Students League of New York, where he currently lives and works. His artwork challenges the viewer through the usage of mechanisms that create a discordance between reality and human’s sense of perception.
He exhibited his artwork in many solo and collective exhibition, such as: “Review: INTERVIEW” "Re-View: INTERVIEW” at Pilotenkueche (Leipzig, 2016), “Tadasuke Jinno Solo Exhibition” at Makari Fine Art (New York, 2014), “Out of Order”at Tazza gallery (Chelsea, 2012) and 2013. He joined several international residency programs such as: NARS Foundation in Brooklyn (New York, 2014), Pilotenkuche in Leipzig (Germany, 2016) and GlogauAIR in Berlin (Germany, 2017)His work has been selected for the permanent collection of Art Students League of NY in 2013.
Petra Regent
She obtained a MA Multidisciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England in Bristol in 2015.
She have been a wildlife filmmaker for many years, and the natural world informs somehow her multimedia art practice, which combines found objects, photography, drawing, text, print, and ceramics.
Recently she had the opportunity to work and collaborate with other artists from all over the world on residencies in Italy and Berlin. She exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, and the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, and was awarded the British Institution student prize at the Royal Academy in 2015.
