Zaratan AIR 2017 | GREG BURNS
1 Janeiro 2017 09h00
We are glad to announce the presence of the visual artist Greg Mason Burns at Zaratan AIR, an international artistic residency program developed by Zaratan. Greg Mason Burns is a visual artist originally from Maine, USA. He developed his audoditact course of art since 2010. He was living in Brazil during the controversial parliamentary coup d'etat that ousted President Dilma Rousseff. This event led him to study the differences between the media's message and the audience's understanding of the same events via painting, sculpture, and installation. He asks the question: If the gap between the media and the audience were a place instead of an idea, what would it look like?
He has studied at the University of Maine (Journalism and Public Administration) and the University of Edinburgh (European Politics), and is self-taught as an artist. He has also exhibited several times in Brazil and the United States.
