ISAQUE PINHEIRO
Isaque Pinheiro (1972) lives and works in Porto. About his artistic practice, about his work, we can say that he is an artist who explores different media, revealing a continuous restlessness where classical and contemporary issues related to the artist's workshop practice intersect, and an intense critical reflection on what he presents to us, assisted by a technical mastery, uncommon nowadays. Evident, for example, in the sculpture exhibitions he has presented, namely in stone.
He is one of the co-founders of Maus Hábitos – Artistic Intervention Space in 2001, and co-founder of Saco Azul – Cultural Association in the City of Porto in 2006.
Isaque Pinheiro has shown his work in several art galleries, museums and biennials, including the Stenersen Museum (Oslo, Norway) Galego Center for Contemporary Art in Compostela-CGAC (Spain), Caixa Cultural do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Paço Imperial (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Soares dos Reis Museum (Porto, Portugal), Amadeu de Sousa Cardoso Museum (Amarante, Portugal).
His work is represented in the Collections of the PLMJ Foundation (Lisbon), Fundação EDP | MAAT (Lisbon), Amadeu de Sousa Cardoso Museum (Amarante), MG Collection (Alvito), Cerveira Biennial Museum, Galician Contemporary Art Center (Santiago de Compostela), Caixanova Foundation (Spain), and Edson Queiroz Foundation (Fortaleza, Brazil), and also in several private collections in several countries.
He is currently represented by Insofar Art Gallery.
