We present the eight session of the INTERFERÊNCIAS concert cycle, curated by Boris Nunes and João Madeira. This unique duo draws from distinct universes to create a space for dialogue between aesthetics, genres, and generations.
In each session, their choices converge on the same stage, bringing together musicians with established careers alongside younger artists of evident artistic maturity. Alongside this age diversity, the cycle explores a wide sonic spectrum, with proposals ranging from jazz and free jazz to electronic, performative, and avant-garde experimentation.
Featuring formats from solo to quartet and including both national and international musicians, INTERFERÊNCIAS is an attempt to map contemporary sound from its margins, creating meeting points between audiences, languages, and sensibilities.
In this eighth session of the cycle, there will be performances by Nuno Veiga and Yolanda Pinto in Uníssono, and Le Vice Anglais for a release concert of their second album 'Allons-y'.

About the artists:
UNÍSSONO | Is a site-specific investigation into the resonance between anatomy and space. Originating at the Lisboa Soa festival in 2020, the project now transitions to the containment and density of the Carvoaria Space at Zaratan. Through contact transducers, vibrations captured from the building's structure and the skin are converted into acoustic signals in real-time, creating a circular causality between choreographic gesture and sonic response. The audience is thus invited to inhabit an experience where architecture and body merge into a single vibrant substance. This immersion stems from the collaboration between Nuno Veiga and Yola Pinto, who transform improvisation into an exercise in deep listening and sensory seismography. Nuno Veiga, a multidisciplinary artist, centers his practice on the investigation of sonic matter and the manipulation of signals in dialogue with contemporary dance. In turn, Yola Pinto crosses her background in Architecture with body studies, focusing on gesture, the physical processes of vibration, and the acoustics of choreographic presence. Also sharing a strong commitment to artistic and community mediation, the creators unite their languages in Uníssono to articulate, clearly and organically, the architecture of the body and the sonic density of the territory. | https://www.nunoveiga.site/
LE VICE ANGLAIS | Are Ricardo Guerra Pires and Bruno Parrinha. The expression "le vice anglais" designates the acquired taste for receiving corporal punishment, allegedly widespread among the English population. It is speculated that this taste is stimulated by the regular exposure of adolescents to these practices in traditional education (currently obsolete). In psychoanalysis, the connection between pleasure in pain (masochism) and the repetition compulsion is a central theme; Freud postulated that psychic functioning was governed by the pleasure principle, which seeks satisfaction and avoids displeasure. However, the clinical observation of patients who incessantly repeated traumatic and painful experiences challenged this theory. In the search for satisfaction in suffering, psychoanalysis suggests that people can obtain a form of satisfaction by placing themselves in positions of being hurt or abused. The repetition of painful situations also serves as a form of self-punishment to satisfy internal demands, which paradoxically can bring a distorted form of relief or pleasure. Through repetition, the individual can transform a traumatic experience lived passively into an active action, which confers an illusion of control over the original trauma. This context serves as the conceptual basis to define the catharsis of "Le Vice Anglais" in response to the pressures of current society.
