Dinis Lapa and Nuno Palma—those two gentlemen of the word—strike lightning into the air, and suddenly a divine, highly selective whim pierces them with the names of Portugal’s most sexão [sexy/big session] poets. A list that would make original sins blush. All of them are, in one way or another, linked to music. Of course. They are nothing but a bunch of prima-donna super-divas. Him or her, naturally. Prima-donas. Primo-donos. Gender is the least of it when talent is the most of it.
Sexões are, therefore, sessions of sung sex with super-diva sexão poets. It is art rolling around in the bed of language. It is the verb working up a sweat. It is the rhyme begging for more. The banquet is served. Now, eat. Delight yourselves. But with class, darlings. With class.

Mega Rim arrives on the Zaratan stage like a burning lung: inhaling silence, exhaling storm. Every verse will sprout from the kidney—the gear where the word meets and purifies the blood, transforming it into a pulse. In "renal" words, Mega Rim "dissects reality through fragmented poetry, where the organic and the digital merge in an embrace of distortion and rhythm. It is musical dialysis for a future that has already arrived, narrated by voices inhabiting the Akashic subconscious."
In this new sexão (session), which celebrates the poetry of João Meirinhos (@caos.neon), the sounds pierce the chest like someone learning to breathe all over again. Mega Rim gives muscle to poetry, the music grows skin, and the heart learns a new way to beat.

About the artists:
MEGA RIM | São João Meirinhos & Bacalhau. They dissect reality through fragmented poetry, where the organic and the digital merge in an embrace of distortion and rhythm. It is musical dialysis for a future that has already arrived, narrated by voices inhabiting the Akashic subconscious. João Meirinhos (Lisbon, 1984) adopts multiple personas—insider/outsider poet, artist, performer, ethnographer—to validate his understanding of things. He intuitively uses photography, language, and video as a way to engage in diverse, and often uncomfortable, situations. He seeks to portray scenarios from habitually disregarded angles to identify and reveal the often-unconscious procedures from which political, social, and spatial structures emerge. Bacalhau was born in the middle of a century and grew up in a poor neighborhood in the capital of a country whose flag had colors. Bacalhau—also known as Lula Querida, Pisa Papéis, or Sarrafadas de Parmesão—began his journey as a percussionist at a time when percussion was seen as "the devil's work." He was even persecuted by fanatical sects of asthmatic flutists and even subscribers of the Círculo de Leitores (Readers' Circle). Having fought for percussionists' rights his entire life, he never set aside his interests in tropical diseases, orthodontics, dry cleaning, washers, grey films, smashing china cabinets with baseball bats, reading supermarket receipts, and enormous breasts. Having passed away tomorrow, he became a music icon; he will be present at all upcoming concerts in hologram format, so that everyone can continue to appreciate his mastery of untangling headphone wires kept in pockets without ever getting annoyed.
