In metal production, it is common to use alloys (ligas), combining metals with other elements (usually non-metals). The resulting mixture gives rise to materials that generally differ from the base metals, providing them with new qualities—namely greater mechanical strength, hardness, or corrosion resistance.
Organized by João Fonte Santa, LIGA is an artistic project that fosters a co-authorial approach, where the results of a dialogue between artists materialize in a joint installation exhibited for one day in Zaratan’s black box.

Recent exhibitions include: Abril Vermelho (CAV, Coimbra, 2024); O verdadeiro lado da manta (Vila Flor, 2022); Baahahal (CAPC, 2023 and ZDB, 2025); Colosso (CIAJG, 2021); and O Museu como Performance (Serralves Foundation, 2021).
